Shabby Heart Journal

This big journal is my latest finished project.  Whew!  I love it when I finish something this big.  I worked on it every free moment over the last week.  I got up one morning with an idea for the cover and it took off from there.  I always get ideas for the covers first.  I don't know if other journal makers feel  this way but the cover is EVERYTHING to me! lol ;0) Sometimes I get ideas for covers when I'm working on another journal.  I literally have to stop and make the cover I imagine before it passes. I currently have 3 covers made and they are waiting to be filled with pretty papers.

Okay, back to this journal.  It is chunky!  It is filled with coffee dyed pages and pretty pastel pages.  I used food coloring for the pastels.  Then I filled it will pockets, tags, and journaling  cards throughout.  I used a lot of papers from the My Mind's Eye paper collection.  I love this particular collection.  I wish I would've bought two of these pads when I had the chance. ;0(  Oh well.  I hope you enjoy looking at it!

More Journals to Share

Summer is quickly coming to an end and I have been kicking myself into high gear to finish several journals I had started.  So these are the two I finished this week.  Yay!  It is such a nice feeling to finish a project. These journals take some time to make to it's never a quick process but I enjoy every part. ;0) I hope you guys will like looking through them. I am working on one more and then it will be time for school and busy life to start back.  I hope you are having a great week.  Thanks for stopping by my blog! Lori

Sewing Junk Journal and an Altered Comp Notebook

I made the little sewing journal last week and I think it turned out super cute.  I used a couple of old patterns from my sewing days years ago when I sewed for my children.  So it also makes this journal a lot special. ;0) I cut up the patterns and some pretty paper and used mod podge to glue it all down.  I used my Tim Holtz distress ink to make it look kind of vintage.  The journal is made out of an envelope so when you open it, there is a big pocket on the back cover.  I love the envelope idea and was inspired by several other journal makers on YouTube.  It makes a nice size little journal with one signature. I also altered the comp notebook and bought another one the other day to alter today.  I love using the tassel bookmarks with them and my oldest daughter has been hand lettering some words for me on pretty papers to use in my journals and things.

Quick Hello!

Just thought I'd share some more personal things in this post.  We've had a lot going on lately.  My oldest daughter graduated and our family took a wonderful vacation to Disney World.

It's the end of another school year and it will be so odd not having my oldest doing school next year but she's extremely happy about it. ;0)  We are kicking off the summer with lots of swimming at the pool between all these thunderstorms.   We have some church camp stuff coming up pretty quick and some more travel to see family in another state that we only see once a year.

I am hoping to get some soap things posted soon.  It seems every time I try to get back into the swing of things with selling my soaps, an obstacle gets in the way.  It's been very frustrating because I love making it so much but I'm praying things start falling back into place for me to start back making, selling, and doing some craft shows again.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you guys are kicking off your summer in a special way and having a great week!  Lori

Charming Fragments Junk Journal

Oh, this is my favorite journal I've made so far!  I love the papers so much.  They are so shabby and vintage...just dreamy!  I bought this kit from https://www.etsy.com/shop/TsunamiRose  if you are interested in making one too.  So many projects could be made with these papers and there are a lot of papers in this kit.  I could have made several little journals but I chose to make this really chunky one pictured here.  This is the chunkiest one I've made so I hope someone who really loves to journal will enjoy writing and recording memories in it.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I have some soap  and wax stuff coming up in the near future as well as other crafty projects.  Have a great day!

Tsunami Rose Designs DT Project for May

I am so excited to be on the Tsunami Rose Design Team and this is my first project for the month of May!  I created this junk journal using the "New Beginnings" kit.  There are so many beautiful papers in this kit and I used every single one of them.  The papers are so colorful and vibrant and could be used for so many different projects.  It comes with envelopes, tags, and lots of pretty ephemera.  Daisy Collins is the owner of Tsunami Rose Designs.  She has many kits and digital papers to choose from in her store. I will leave links to her blog and etsy shop so you guys can go check her out! http://tsunamirosedesigns.blogspot.com/
