Shabby Chic Tussie Mussie and Soap

More pictures of the soap that I had issues with.  It's such a shame, I love how pretty the top looks in these pictures.  I will try it again with a mica colorant next time.

The next pictures are a shabby chic tussie mussie I finished up yesterday.  I saw some other crafters on youtube making these and they just looked like so much fun, I had to make my own.  I made this one to match the things I just painted in the girls' room.  I have some ideas for Christmas ones and Valentines ones too.  Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Monday ;0).

Waiting for the Cure

More soap pictures...I'm waiting on them to cure so I can list them in my shop.  I just got some soapmaking supplies in yesterday so more batches to come!

Painting and Soaping

Just wanted to share a couple of things I've been up to these past couple of weeks.  A friend of mine had invited me to her beautiful home several weeks ago and she has the most beautifully decorated home.  It is truly every shabby chic lover's dream!  Anyway, she had a dresser in one of the rooms that had the prettiest seafoam colors.  I was inspired to give some things in my own home a makeover.  So I went out and got a little paint and altered two mirrors I didn't really like anymore and also painted a little shelving unit.  Now I'm looking around to see what other things I can change up a bit.  I'm on a roll! lol

Here is a soap I made for an order.  They came out so nice but after they had cured, the pretty pink was smearing everywhere so I had to cut it off ( it was only on the very top, not all the way through) and I made another small batch of soap into "icing" and piped it on top.  Sometimes plans with my soap doesn't work out but thankfully I can usually think of a way to salvage it.  The only time I can't fix it is if the scent morphs or something.  You can try to rebatch and cover the smell but that usually makes things worse.  Those bars get grated into laundry soap at my house!

Have a Happy Easter!

Sunday Sharing

In the mold at the top is the Japanese Cherry Blossom I soaped this weekend.  More pictures to come of those when they are cut.  And the other pictures are of my birthday celebration with my husband and kids.  My children made me this sweet cake.  My oldest daughter baked it and my yougest two decorated. ;0)  It was so nice.   Hope you all are having a blessed weekend!  Blessings, Lori

New Soapies

These cake slices and bars with the yellow balls on top are fragranced in pina colada...a fresh pineapple and coconut scent and it smells delicious.  The bars with the cupcakes on top down below are tea tree oil soaps and the white bars with the pink tops are my plain and simple bars I made for an order.  I am slowly soaping more\curing more soap to open my shop up again!  So excited to be back at it again. I am soaping Japanese Cherry Blossom and Green Apple this weekend so more pics to come!

Soaping Again!

I am so happy to say I am back to making soap again.  It's been a while due to moving and other personal things but things are getting back to a normal for my family and I'm able to start making soap and other things that I have really missed.  So be looking for new soap pictures and things on here very soon.  ;0)

We are coming to a close of another school year very soon.  That being the case, I am looking forward to having our summer days filled with soap, sewing, and just fun things we don't have a whole lot of extra time for in the school year.  I'm also hoping for a craft show or two in our future.

I hope you all are having a great week.  Thanks for stopping by my blog!  Enjoy the newest pics!
