Birthday Celebrations

We have been so busy lately with school and birthdays this month that I have not had very much time to  post anything here on my blog.  So I thought I would quickly post the homemade birthday cakes my girls and I did for their birthdays.  I'm so thankful for another year.  Yes, everyone is getting older but I am thankful for that.  I am so blessed!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Altered Jars

Here are a couple of altered jars I wanted to share with you guys.  I love making these.  They look so pretty on a desk and can be filled with anything you like or just left out for looks.  I have started filling some of mine with small embellishments I use for making papercrafts and things.  Others we have put an LED light in and use for night lights.  The possibilities are endless!  The point is to get creative and make something you like to look at.  The jars can be painted any color and decorated in any style.  I made shabby chic flowers for the lids on these and trimmed them in all sorts of pretty trims.  I even created a dangling charm for the one at the top and put a cute vintage deer on the second one.  I would love to see what you come up with!  Leave me a link in the comments so I can check yours out!

A Water Bottle turned into......

A Fairytale Dress!

I recently did a swap with another crafter and the challenge was to make a fairytale dress out of the top part of a regular, plastic water bottle and pretty display box for it.  Here is what I came up with.  This was such a fun project!  The host had a couple of videos on ideas for the dress and box construction for us.  I love the way it came out.  I'm not sure what you could really do with this project to make it something functional but it is adorable to look at.  Maybe it would be cute for someone's bridal shower or something like that.

I have been working on a couple of other crafty type things over the past couple of weeks and have also made some good smelling soaps!  I will be posting some pictures of those things this week.  Until then...have a wonderful day! ~

Hello Crafty Friends

Well, hello crafty friends ;0).  I just wanted to share a few finished projects with you.  I am very blessed to live next to a very good friend who shares a love of crafting and also a love of all things Shabby Chic.  She recently brought me two things to alter.  The first pictured is an altered wire tiara.  That was so much fun to pretty up.   The second thing was a clock.  Of course it came out pink.  Doesn't everything I make?  The third picture is a banner my daughter made for her desk.  She got the idea from this same wonderful friend, Holly.  She has a blog we follow with all sorts of beautiful crafting and decorating ideas.  Please go check it out!  I love all the sparkly things she puts on there to look at.  It is so inspirational.  www.bellanest.blogspot.com

Cake Soap Slices

Don't these cake slice soaps look yummy?  I will have them in my shop soon.  They still have a little while to finish curing but I got packaging finished and pictures taken so I wanted to share them with you!

Summer Crafting

We have been doing some summer crafting projects around here.  We've had a rainy couple of weeks but that's okay!  Look at the fun things we made! ;0)  The first pictures are of a Christmas in July challenge I participated in.  We had to make a Christmas Tussy Mussy so of course I chose to make mine in Shabby style.  The other projects pictured are just some cans my daughter and I decorated for their desks for the upcoming school year.  We also altered a couple of mason jars and turned them into night lights!   Fun stuff around here.  Are you having a good summer?  I hope so.  Thanks for stopping by!

Vertical Paper Bag Mini Album Project Share

Here is my vertical paper bag mini album!  I got this project idea from a lady on YouTube who does tutorials on all kinds of albums.  Hers are just gorgeous.  If you're interested in learning or just looking at her albums, her YT channel is called My Sisters Scrapper and I'll put in the link straight to this specific tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Aj9oMQYtVg&list=PLZWYZYWvRgNst9Kw7-fJlYoaZ7ZYC_XwM

I  still have some photo mats to make that will actually fit down into the paper bags but this is what I have completed so far after working on this off and on for about a week!  So much work!  But it's so much fun to be creative and pick embellishments to make the pages look pretty.  I am definitely going to be making more of these.  I think they will make nice Christmas presents for family this year.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I hope you are having a blessed week.  Lori
