Let the soapmaking BEGIN!

Yayyyy!  These are the soaps that have made it to the curing rack.  Just another week before listing them in my etsy shop.  The room I have them in smells so good. I love homemade soap!!!

My Art Journal

I know I have been away for a very long time!    We have moved and what a whirlwind it has been. Life is just that way for me sometimes. Besides trying to adjust to a new place, there are all kinds of things to get done in a day and so my little blog has been neglected.  Hopefully, I can start posting again regularly.

I am sharing something a little bit different than usual.  I have started to draw again.  I once loved drawing so much but just didn't continue with it after I "grew up". ;0)  I started an art journal over the summer and have tried to be faithful to draw or paint something every week.  My favorite thing to draw are whimsical faces.  I have had so much fun.  Hope you enjoy seeing these girls!

I have started to make soap again so I will be posting pics of them very soon and listing them in my etsy shop.  Oh, I love to make soap!  I will never get tired of all the soap possibilities.  I also really enjoy looking at other soap maker's soaps.  It truly is an art to me.

We are getting ready to have Thanksgiving and just got our Christmas tree up a couple of days ago.  I love the holidays so much.  I have Christmas music playing everyday.  The oldies are the best Christmas songs!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Shabby Heart Journal

This big journal is my latest finished project.  Whew!  I love it when I finish something this big.  I worked on it every free moment over the last week.  I got up one morning with an idea for the cover and it took off from there.  I always get ideas for the covers first.  I don't know if other journal makers feel  this way but the cover is EVERYTHING to me! lol ;0) Sometimes I get ideas for covers when I'm working on another journal.  I literally have to stop and make the cover I imagine before it passes. I currently have 3 covers made and they are waiting to be filled with pretty papers.

Okay, back to this journal.  It is chunky!  It is filled with coffee dyed pages and pretty pastel pages.  I used food coloring for the pastels.  Then I filled it will pockets, tags, and journaling  cards throughout.  I used a lot of papers from the My Mind's Eye paper collection.  I love this particular collection.  I wish I would've bought two of these pads when I had the chance. ;0(  Oh well.  I hope you enjoy looking at it!

More Journals to Share

Summer is quickly coming to an end and I have been kicking myself into high gear to finish several journals I had started.  So these are the two I finished this week.  Yay!  It is such a nice feeling to finish a project. These journals take some time to make to it's never a quick process but I enjoy every part. ;0) I hope you guys will like looking through them. I am working on one more and then it will be time for school and busy life to start back.  I hope you are having a great week.  Thanks for stopping by my blog! Lori
